If getting a fun angle means climbing the monkey bars while carrying a camera worth more than my first car… I’ll do it. 😅

Not because I’m trying to be dramatic, but because perspective changes everything. Different angles make your gallery feel fun, dynamic and full of life, especially when your photoshoot is gloriously chaotic.

Pro tip for a happier life, especially if you’re a photographer: surround yourself with people who never roll their eyes when you turn up with another camera or lens to play with. 😉

My little Polish tribe in London has never once questioned it. They simply let me create.

They’re women who care, who listen, who accept every version of me, and who bring their own stories, perspectives and wisdom into our shared conversations.

This weekend it was just a few of the usual crew, but as always, it felt like a safe place to land, slow down and recharge.

I couldn’t resist bringing my vintage Helios 44-2 along this time.

It’s a fully manual lens that creates the dreamiest, softest images. Definitely not my first choice for the beautiful chaos of a family photoshoot, where tiny humans have absolutely no intention of staying still. But it’s the perfect reminder to slow down, be intentional and really see each frame before pressing the shutter.

Now I’m slightly obsessed with the idea of using it for dreamy maternity portraits…

My ADHD brain likes to go on random side quests, some are ridiculous, others actually useful. But it’s part of who I am and since learning that this is my operating system (only few months ago!) lots of things started to make sense…

But actually the biggest part of it I find helping me with photographing families is that I totally fixate on the shoot when we meet and give it my all. Plus I have spidey senses when it comes to reading people’s emotions, so I can adjust the flow of session accordingly. Flexibility and coming up with solutions on my feet - that’s my strength for sure!

I’m telling them to get soaked!

They think they’ve just had the best day ever, and you get photos of pure joy that actually shows their real personalities.
