Baby Mehr Newborn photoshoot As a photographer, meeting new clients can be both exciting and nerve-w…
Not a huge fan of traditional newborn shoots? Good, me neither 😉
Excitement, happiness, love, nostalgia – a mix of feelings guaranteed on an in home newborn photoshoot. You finally get to hold that little human you waited for so long. You want to remember every detail; tiny toes, smell of his head, that milk drunk look on his face. You know it won’t last long. You know he’ll grow faster than you can say “oh-my-god-he-smells-so-good!”.
Hey, don’t you worry. I’m here to take care of those memories for you. In just 90(ish) minutes I’ll capture the essence of your baby’s first days at home. You don’t have to go anywhere or prepare anything extra special. I explain everything in a “newborn photoshoot prep guide” you’ll get after booking. Oh, and you can message me anytime with questions, worries or ideas – I’m here for you.
Newborn photoshoot is a MUST HAVE in a family album.
They’re SO little only for a very short time…
You may not feel like going anywhere in the first days after giving birth. I know I didn’t leave the bedroom for a week when I had my first one. It’s all a lot, you may be overwhelmed, sleep deprived, and in general state of chaos. And that’s totally okay.
The photoshoot in your house, means you don’t have to go anywhere. No packing bags, rushing to be somewhere in time, stressing how your newborn with react to a new environment. Instead, I come to yours, have a look around and pick the best spots. You don’t have to clean the house. Good angle and distance and whatever you’re not happy with won’t be in the photos. Also, there’s no problem to move a few things around during the shoot like hiding cables, or plastic bottles, or your pregnancy vitamins that live on your nightstand even tho you don’t need them anymore.
All I’m asking for you to be present for that hour or so.
I work at your pace – we adjust the flow to the needs of your newborn. Nappy changes, feeds, little or big cries. Or a tea break for you. There will be space for all that.
You’re doing this to create an artful and meaningful evidence of this new chapter in life. In a few years time, he’ll ask you how it was when you first brought him home. And you’ll show him those photos.
You probably want to have it ticked off your TO DO list before the baby arrives. We can talk details, get a plan in place and then when he’s here you just ping me and we select an exact date. If he’s already here, give me a shout anyway. I may have availability and squeeze you in last minute.
The first two weeks after birth, when the baby is a curled up tiny little bundles of love, are ideal for the shoot. But if you don’t feel like it just after giving birth, it’s also fine, just don’t wait too long.
Fill out the contact form to get your personalised quote. Once you confirm it and secure the booking by paying the £50 deposit, you’ll receive a newborn at home photoshoot preparation guide, which will help you prepare for the shoot.
I’ll be with you, just one click away in case you’d like to consult your outfit choices, talk about your wishes or just chat to get to know each other better before I visit you in your home.
See you soon!
Your home is great. Doesn’t matter if it’s small or big, empty or cluttered – it’s yours. For the photoshoot we need access to natural light, so a window + space on the couch or in the bedroom. Sometimes I need to rearrange a few bits to make a clear and comfortable space for the photos. If you still have doubts send me photos of your flat or house, or let’s schedule a video call so we can assess the space together and I can answer all your questions.
No deep cleaning required. A general tidy up is enough. But if you don’t feel like it having a fresh newborn at home, don’t worry about it at all. I can move things around, hide cables, chargers, empty bottles, move the laundry to next room. That’s the magic of camera – with right angle and distance we can exclude what we don’t want to have in the photos and keep the main focus on you 🙂
There’s no rush. I always tell my clients to wait until they are ready to have a photographer in their house. When you book a newborn photoshoot before the baby is born, we park it on a due date, but then we keep in touch and arrange for final date when the baby is here.
